Botox

BOTOX has been being used in different fields in medicine for about 20-25 years. At the beginning  it was being used for opthalmology and neurology to stop muscle contractions, Recently it is started being used for lines and wrinkles treatment.

Our muscle contractions is controlled by our brain. Brain sends stimulus to the nerves and nerves take these to the muscles. Botox stops stimulus to reach from nerve to muscle. And this way it stops exaggerated muscle contractions.

The best results are between the eyebrows, forehead and crow’s feet. And also it can be used for  the wrinkles around the nose, neck and smokeline. It may not give good results with fine lines caused by sun damage.

For the treatment of excess sweat it is the best treatment beside surgical approach. The effect lasts for about 10-12 months.

Botox treatment takes about 10-15 minutes and it starts to show its effect within 48 hours. And takes its final result within 10 days. After the firs time it lasts for about 4 to 6 months. With repeating treatments the effect tends to last even longer.

Botox may last shorter on male patients as they have bigger muscles and it also lasts shorter on people who use their mimic muscle more often than others, staying undersun for long periods can also decrease the lasting affect of botox.

Botox hasgot very little side effects. Slight headache, rednessand bruising. Except pregnancy, lactation and some blood disorders it can be used everybody. Highest efficiency age interval is between 18-65.

Before the botox treatment people should stop painkillers 5 days before and they should stay in upright position for about 2 hours.
